Ready to trade sidewalks for shorelines? 

Come join McGill’s Canoe Camping Frosh!

Spend a weekend paddling through one of Quebec’s most iconic wilderness; La Mauricie National Park. We’ll kick things off at Lac Wapizagonke, where you’ll get a quick intro to canoeing, safety, and all the “how do I not tip this thing over?” essentials. Then we’re off—splitting into groups to explore the lake by canoe and (for the brave / curious) taking on a light portage route through forest trails. Days are a mix of paddling, swimming, shoreline chilling, and wandering conversations that somehow turn into I feel like I’ve known this person forever energy by sunset. Saturday, everyone switches routes so you get the full experience. By Sunday, we ease into a slow morning, pack up camp, and paddle out together one last time. It’s part farewell, part “ I’m glad I met such awesome people,” and 100% the kind of weekend that sticks with you!

2026 Canoeing Frosh Coordinators

Hey future climbers! We’re super stoked to send some stellar routes with you all to start off the semester. At climbing frosh we’ll be climbing crags, bounding up boulders and forging friendships. Over the course of the weekend you’ll have the opportunity to try some incredible bouldering and top roping routes at Parc régional Val-David-Val-Morin. Each night we’ll head back to the McGill Outdoors Club house to play games, hang out and enjoy a campfire. Whether you’ve already reached the heights of Taipei 101 or have yet to step foot off the ground, there is a place for you at Climbing Frosh. We can’t wait to meet you all.

Do you yearn for the mountains? To feel the summer wind on your face? If so, join hiking frosh!! Come experience the beauty of Quebec nature over a weekend in La Mauricie National Park! We have three days of fun hikes planned, all levels welcome, with swimming, campfires, games, and overall good vibes sprinkled in between. Upon arrival on Friday, we have a short 4km with packs to do before setting up camp. We’ll end off the evening with a sweet treat and some games. On Saturday, we have 12km (big pack free!!) around a lake, ending with a swim before heading back to camp. Sweet treats and games once again. Finally, we’ll wake up bright and early on Sunday to hike 15km with our packs, enjoy one last dip in a lake and then head back to your new home, beautiful McGill.
