Drug and Alcohol Policy
We’ll keep it simple…
1) NOTHING ILLEGAL
2) BE RESPONSIBLE
No alcohol or other substances are provided by Outdoor Frosh. All froshies must abide by the legal drinking and smoking ages in the province of Quebec (18+) and follow all municipal and park regulations. The option coordinators will advise you of these policies. In addition, McGill Outdoors Club policy states that only beer and wine are permitted (no hard liquor) and drinking games are not allowed.
When deciding whether or not to partake in alcohol, tobacco, or cannabis (if it is legal for you to do so), please remember that we will be in backcountry environments (45+ min away from hospital), alcohol makes backpacks much heavier, and everyone will be waking up early!
We reserve the right to send you home early if you are in violation of these policies.
Cell Phone Policy
Cell phones are permitted on all options, but they are your responsibility. Several options will be outside coverage areas (usually canoeing, camping, and hiking) and we are not responsible for cell phone loss or damage. All leaders will have cell phones in case of emergency, so we suggest you leave your phones at home to better connect with nature and those around you!
Allergies and Medical Conditions
Please let us know at email@example.com if you have any allergies or medical conditions that may affect your participation on outdoor frosh. If you have an EpiPen, please bring it. We will not have them available if you forget.
Both the McGill Outdoors Club and Outdoor Frosh are anti-oppressive and advocate for safer spaces. We strive to foster an inclusive environment for everyone regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, abilities, or religious beliefs. Please visit this website for more information.
Other Emergency Information
In the event of an emergency, we will contact your emergency contact (provided when you register for outdoor frosh). All leaders and coordinators will have cell phones. Please contact head frosh coords Alice and Hannah at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any concerns.
